Synevyr National Nature Park continues to worry every day about IDPs who are forced to stay in the park. This time the park staff visited the children of IDPs in the branch of the Kyiv plant “Burevisnyk” of the recreation center “Tereblya”. Specialists held another environmental and educational event on environmental issues “Nature is my friend.”
The purpose of the event is to expand children’s knowledge of nature and to develop the ability to respect the environment. Specialist Tetyana Krasnyanyk introduced children to the rare plants and animals of the Synevyr National Nature Park, the forest trails of the national park, and the unique lakes in the forests, and told about Glukhanya Swamp, where a rare insectivorous plant grows – round-leaved sundew. Children got acquainted with the fauna and flora with the game “Who am I?”. In turn, Lyubov Grechyn conducted a practical class with the help of a board game, where children had the opportunity to reproduce any plant or animal on paper.
It was important for the organizers of the event that each of the participants was distracted from the terrible events of the present, negative experiences, discovered something new and interesting, and of course, had blast. Despite the difficult times in Ukraine, the children actively participated in communication and took part in practical classes, revealing their creative abilities. All this helped to evoke positive emotions and joy not only in children but also in their families.
The event was held in cooperation with the Institute of Ecological and Religious Studies – IERS (headed by Alexander Bokotey) and the German Nature Conservation Union (#NABU), project coordinator Ivan Tymofeiev.
