On October 19, a set of methodical games “Learning the plant and animal world while playing” was presented during the methodical meeting as part of the cooperation of the Institute of Ecological and Religious Studies, as a part of the cooperation between the Interreligious and Environmental Civil Forum of Eastern Europe (IRCEF) and the methodologists of the Transcarpathian Regional Environmental and Naturalistic Center for Students Youth (TRENCSY) with the support of the German Nature Conservation Union (NABU).
For teachers and young researchers, the publication offers 10 didactic cards on three topics: “Wintering and migratory birds of Ukraine”, “Edible and poisonous mushrooms”, and “Medicinal trees, shrubs, and herbal plants”. The set of didactic games was created with the aim of improving students’ assimilation of educational material, engagement of cognitive activity, and formation of cognitive and environmental competencies. Such games, tested in practice by teachers of the eco-center during classes with youth and holding eco-quests, are very popular among students. It was created for children of primary and secondary school age. Didactic games can be used when learning new material, summarizing what has been learned, and controlling the knowledge of students and young people both in individual work and in work in pairs or in small groups. Also, during the meeting, a number of other topics of ecological education were considered, and reports on this topic were listened to.
The set was issued as part of the cooperation of the Interreligious and Environmental Civil forum of Eastern Europe (IRCEF) (headed by Alexander Bokotey) and the German Nature Conservation Union (NABU Bundesverband NABU International ), project coordinator Ivan Tymofeiev, Nataliya Kulya (IRCEF).
