Brief description of the project:Political tolerance is one of the important steps towards the implementation of “active tolerance” in a broad context. This is the necessary step, which for the societies that are in the transit stage (and the transit, which has been delayed), is able, on the one hand, to facilitate the processes of democratization, the processes of leaving the corrupt model of existence, and on the other hand, this step will become a solid foundation for the further formation and functioning of a society of sustainable development. The gradual implementation of the concept and practices of tolerance in the Ukrainian socio-political space will contribute not only to the strengthening of democratic tendencies in Ukraine and its approach to the best European models, but will also allow the creation of an effective mechanism for resolving internal contradictions and conflicts. For modern Ukrainian society, the context of tolerance is not only one of the needs or possible alternatives of socio-political and cultural development, but rather even a necessity that determines the quality of its further existence.
The purpose of the project: 1. Creation of platforms for the promotion of “active” tolerance in educational institutions and mass media, because these are the key information channels through which public opinion is formed, as well as various spaces of interaction are constructed. 2. Creation of educational programs and implementation of trainings on issues of political tolerance for civil servants and politicians occupying positions of various levels in the bodies of state power and local self-government in Ukraine. 3. Establishing a peaceful dialogue between representatives of different identities of Ukrainian society, long-term and persistent work on the search for common goals and guidelines, which will help to overcome misunderstandings and contradictions with their value significance. 4. The search for the best practices of political tolerance both in the Ukrainian political space and in the experience of foreign political communication, which would allow to crystallize and better visualize the expediency, effectiveness and profitability of tolerance for the broad circles of Ukrainian society.
